Unfortunately however, when there’s a break in the chemical application, either from being unable to access all areas, or if a treated area is later compromised, termites can identify these gaps and gain ingress.

Bifenthrin has a residual life of up to 5 years and is a widely used repellent chemical currently available.

Non-Repelling Chemicals

Termites don’t detect these repellents. Consequently, they do not avoid the treated places, and thus die after they have contact with them. Additionally, individual termites can transfer the chemical to other colony members, creating a flow on result.

Above Ground Systems can be used to eliminate termites from houses by positioning bait stations at the site of activity, so they begin to feed on the bait matrix rather than the timber they were consuming.
