Repelling Chemicals

These chemicals are easily detected by termites / white ants, making them very useful for protection around treated areas. However, in the event the treated areas are not completely covered, or if they later get compromised, then termites can identify the breaks and once again access the property.

The often widely applied chemical repellent is Bifenthrin, which has a residual effectiveness of up to five years.

Non Repellent Chemicals

Repellent chemicals are not identifiable by the termites. Since they don’t avoid the treated areas, they will move through the chemical and die after coming into contact with it. They will also transfer the chemical on to other colony members they come into contact with, thus creating a compounding effect.
